NKLA – No Kill Los Angeles

The NKLA initiative is poised to serve as a model for how the entire nation can become no-kill, with no pet ever having to die in a shelter again simply because they do not have a home.

I’m moved every time I see one of the billboards for this campaign. NKLA (No Kill Los Angeles) is “a coalition of animal welfare organizations, city shelters and passionate individuals… dedicated to ending the killing of healthy and treatable pets in L.A. city shelters.” A friend of mine was involved with this ad campaign intended to raise awareness about euthanasia in LA’s animal shelters. I think NKLA did a fantastic job of putting faces on this campaign… it’s hard not to feel moved when you look in the eyes of these animals.
